I’ve decided not to let my blog ‘die a quiet death’. Therefore, I’m committing myself to write at least one post per week from now on. I’ve also decided to narrow this blogs focus. I love all things media-related; however, I’ll mainly be talking about online publishing and social media – with a couple of random rants added in for good measure.

After poking around on the internet, I came across an article detailing FedEx’s expansion into the Social Media market. Of course, I was intrigued:
Last November, FedEx made its first foray into social media, debuting its Launch a Package application on Facebook. The Flash animation-based app, created by Atmosphere BBDO, New York, lets users send virtual FedEx packages containing text messages, photos, videos and other attachments. Its popularity exceeded expectations, with more than 300,000 downloads in the first two weeks. (BtoB)
Needless to say, FedEx deserves an A + for effort. What a smart move to leverage their brand name within the social media realm. Unlike before, Facebook users can now easily send attachments using the messaging facility via FedEx’s Launch a Package application. FedEx has proved to provide a brand experience that is both fun and practical. A + indeed.

I first heard about MOvember last year through my boyfriend whose from Melbourne, Australia. The fundraising event is a huge deal down under; but I was also excited to find out that Canada has had a strong role in making its MOvember mark. This year, I’ve seen many facebook groups, status’ all pertain to one thing: raising awareness and some serious funds for prostate cancer. Here’s a tid bit of info: Every year around 24,700 Canadian men are diagnosed with prostate cancer and about 4,300 die of the disease, making it the number one cancer threat to Canadian men.
It’s fun, and it’s easy. Even if all you can grow is peach fuss – do it. To find out more about this charity event, click here.

You may be deceived if you trust too much, but you will live in tormet if you do not trust enough.
~Frank Crane
Maybe the notion trust is more about knowing who you are, and believing in that. Then it is about trusting someone else.
I think the key to that is knowing your “gut” feeling – the idea that it just “feels” right. And along with that, comes peace and reassurance – in yourself, and with the decisions you make. Sometimes though, I think people’s fears, doubts and insecurities overpower their “gut” feeling – leaving them lost and unsure of what is right, what is meant to be. When this happens, you lose the trust in yourself.
So how do you gain it back? How do you find peace within yourself again?

Hello again. Okay, so I’ve been listening to this new artist non-stop, and I thought – why not share her with the rest of you? Her name is Coby Grant – she’s folky, refreshing, and her tunes are quite addictive (be aware!). Check out her 3 new tracks on her myspace: http://www.myspace.com/cobygrant, or visit her website at: http://www.cobygrant.com. Added bonus – she’s Australian!

John Butler Trio
Missy Higgins is coming to Toronto on July 23rd. What does this mean? I FINALLY get to see her live in concert…in my hometown! I thought I would have to wait until I went to Australia to see her. And to completely make my day, another one of my favourite musicians is coming to town on August 9th - John Butler Trio! I’m so super pumped for these concerts. If you haven’t heard of these peeps already (yes, I did just say “peeps”) – check out their music online!
That’s all for now. Love, love.
UPDATE: After seeing both Missy Higgins and JBT live, I am one happy lady. That also may be because I snagged set lists for both artists! And even scored myself an autograph from Missy Higgin’s lead guitarist, Ben! Okay, enough bragging. But really – if you get a chance to see them live – do it, you won’t regret it. I promise.
xx.

Should I sell my Dave Matthews Tickets or go to an All-Inclusive Resort for a week?? Ahhhhhhhh, it’s a tough choice because I’ve been dying to see Paolo Nutini play live for ages. The concert is sold out and it’s bound to be A-MAZE-ING. But, who can resist a sun-kissed tan, and sipping pina colada’s while relaxing on a white, sandy beach?? If you were me, what would YOU do?

I saw Eric Claption last night at the Molson Ampitheatre. Now, I have appreciated Clapton’s music over the years. I mean, who hasn’t heard the soulful hit “Tears in Heaven”?…but I must admit – I was never a huge fan. I never bought any of his CD’s or Groupie T-shirts. And I definitely never attended any of his concerts. So, the reason for my attendence this time around? I bought the tickets for my two month anniversary (I know, how sweet). But, I couldn’t believe how packed the place was! People from all walks of life, people of all ages – coming together to celebrate his music. The money was definitely well spent, and I have to say that I have a new-found respect for Clapton. Well done, you.
